YouTube and Twitter user BartleBy182 asked us to check out their tribute song to Eliza Dushku. Titled “Everlasting Eliza“, French pop-punk band Mutants Love Chicken‘s song of unrequited love for Eliza is a fun tribute with references to her TV and movie appearances. Lyrics are below the video.
Lyrics
First time we met, I was about 12 and I didn’t notice you
But then I saw you later, kicking some undead you were looking so much better
It’s always the same, I’m waiting for you and you’re always on time
Right behind the screen, you’ll never see me
And I know you’re a thousand miles from my bedroom
You’re sleeping with the luckiest guy ever
And I know you’ll never hear about that song
Cause I’m no Schwarzenegger… you can call me loser
Forget about your stake because I don’t bite
Well, not that much
But don’t ask me to go camping in West Virginia
Being eaten does suck!
And I know you’re a thousand miles from my bedroom
You’re sleeping with the luckiest guy ever
And I know you’ll never hear about that song
Cause I’m no Ben Stiller… you can call me loser
Everlasting Eliza, you’re my American Dream
You’ll never see me but I’ll be watching your back,
So won’t you let me be… the New Guy in your life?
Whether you’re a cheerleader or a slayer,
It doesn’t matter
You know you’ll always be my
Favorite undertaker
And I know you’re a thousand miles from my bedroom
You’re sleeping with the luckiest guy ever
And I know you’ll never hear about that song
Cause I’m no Steven Spielberg… you can call me loser
Everlasting Eliza, you’re my American Dream
You’ll never see me, but I’ll be watching your back,
So won’t you let me be… the New Guy in your life?
MLC was formed in October, 2005, and started playing shows in Noumea’s pubs and other places ever since then. As a simple pop-punk band, we just try and have fun playing our songs and sharing them with any music-lover. Our first full-length album has just started to hit the New Caledonia stores.
